Easter Weekend

Thursday I meet my Mom half way between their house and ours and she took the girls home with her. That night Monte and I got to go out on a DATE to Texas Roadhouse! The next day I was able to go shopping for an Easter dress for myself with no kids. It was awesome! Then when Monte finished up work we headed down to Oklahoma. We meet my parents, Brian and Donna, and Aaron and Kim at Outback steakhouse. It was so fun talking and going on two dates in a row! After dinner we went to Aaron and Kim's house for some ice cream.
Saturday morning we got up and went to the double D and rode horses for a little bit, then all the girls headed to the local Easter egg hunt. Emma got a silver egg and won a Easter basket with an arch card and a barbie. I'm personally not into the public Easter egg hunts-I prefer just doing it at home without a million people-but the girls had fun :) and that's what counts! We then watched the afternoon session of conference while the Naughty boys played football. That night we got some Braums ice cream and a movie while the big boys went to priesthood session (an hour away!)
Easter morning the all kids were up and playing together and I was able to get all ready for Easter. I love being able to prepare for the day. It was such a nice day too. It felt so peaceful sitting outside pondering about the Savior's Resurrection, my testimony, and life in general. We then had a big breakfast and even cleared the table before conference started. I personally felt so inspired-it seemed like every talk was about motherhood and the importance of family. Between sessions we had a delicious dinner. We had beef brisket and it was SO good! Later that evening we went to Brian and Donna's house for some dessert, visiting, and egg hunting for the kids. On our way home there was a beautiful lightning storm in the clouds. It was so beautiful to watch.

All of us together for Easter Dinner
